All the guys and gals here are my pets! A lot of customers love seeing them. They occupy various nesting places on the farm and in the barn. Each has their own temperament and personality and I love all of them dearly! A few are show quality birds, and the rest are pet quality.

Boaz – Buff Silkie Rooster

Pop a top-hat on him and he could easily walk Bay Street un-noticed (maybe take the feathers off though!). Boaz is my lovable roo and the main man of the roost. He has an extremely gentle disposition though it can be very brisk and business-like at times. No other bird dares stand up to him, but he does not flaunt his power or misuse it. He spends his days wandering around eating grass and watching out for the rest of the flock.

Elimelech – Frizzle Silkie Rooster

Elimelech is the 2nd male pet silkie in the coop. He is very shy. You would be hard pressed to see him when visitors are around. He spends most of his time behind the barn in the field- where no one can see him. He is the only bird that can gently eat out of your hand, and is being trained so that he is a little less afraid of humans!

Layla – Black Silkie Hen

Layla is one of my showgirls – very quiet and docile, she likes hanging out with Lavender and Elimelech. She is banded and is an ABA (American Bantam Association) certified bird.

Lavender – Lavender Silkie Hen

Lavender is my second showgirl. She has a little more spirit then Layla, and is a little more adventurous. (She is also a bit more tame). She is also ABA banded and is therefore a pure silkie. She won 1st in her Senior Division, and Reserve Champion overall at the Ilderton Fair.

Mary Poopins – Black Frizzle Silkie Hen

Mary is very ornate show bird.  She has quite a temper considering she is the smallest in the coop, and can be rambunctious at times,. She  can be scared easily. She likes to sit outside of the barn in the dirt!
