All the Legal Jargon

1.1 Your Privacy:

We [Sonshine Acre Chicken Meats] will never disclose to any 3rd party [Company or individual] any information that we receive via any means of communication, including but not limited to texts, Facebook Messages, the Pre-order form, e-mails, etc. Your information is kept confidential and will only be used for internal purposes (accessing your email for instance to let you know when the birds are ready). Information collected will be stored securely (on a multiple password protected computer and in physical form in our office).

1.2 Pre-Orders

1.2.1 You {the person ordering] may place (1) order per “batch” (cycle) of chickens. You may amend your order up to 7 days prior to the pickup date (add birds, subtract birds, or amend options). Your order will be recorded and you will be contacted at least 14 days in advance with our address and when to pick up your birds if you ordered in a “batch” (if not, we will contact you within 24 hours as leftover birds are easier to arrange for pickup then pre-ordered birds set to the batch system). You must respond to any (phone, email, FB message) of our communications within 48 hours. If not, your order will be de-listed and open for others to take them. Orders are filled on a first-come-first serve basis. We do not over-order batches. If you order and the quota has been filled, you will be offered 1st place on the next batch or you can pickup extra birds if available (you will be contacted about this on a as-needed basis).

1.2.2 We [Sonshine Acre Chicken Meats] will not amend or otherwise adjust your order unless conditions (including but not limited to disease, sickness or inspection) render us unable to fulfill your order in whole or in part. We will contact you if your order must be amended and we will help rectify the issue on an as needed basis. We reserve the right to refuse a pre-order if we believe you are not within commuting distance of our facility, or we suspect it is spam.

1.2.3 Orders may be canceled by us when the following happen: 1. (Pursuant to Section 1.2.1) You choose not to respond to any attempt to reach you within 48 hours. 2. You choose to decline the entire order to do an external event or on your own choosing. If this is the case, Sonshine Acre Chicken Meats reserves the right to chose whether or not to sell to you in the future. 3. You do not make a concerted effort to help and come out and pick up. 4. You respond within 48 hours, and then our efforts to reach your or to setup a date do not work out either by our schedule or yours not working out.

1.3 Meat

The meat [chicken meat, legs, cuts] are legally processed at a Ontario Government Inspected plant in Alvinston (Plant #522). The CFIA (Canada Food Inspection Agency) and OMAFRA inspects the meat upon entering the plant. All certified meat is chilled after processing. Following processing the next day, we transport the chilled meat back to our farm within 2 hours. It is immediately (within 8 hours) handed out to customers. All meat that is left is frozen to stop bacteria from entering. There is no warranty on the meat. Meat is sold farm-gate only.

1.4 Sales

All sales are final. As this is a farm-gate operation, there will be no returns. Individual situations that arise regarding sales will be looked at if needed. We will attempt to rectify any mistakes and/or errors to the best of our ability.

1.5 This Document

This document will be updated on an as needed basis by Sonshine Acre Chicken Meats. Anything (including but not limited to ideas, concepts, actions or statements) that are not written herein shall be left solely up to the discretion of Sonshine Acre Chicken Meats. Any situation that arises that is not covered in this document shall be dealt with at the discretion of Sonshine Acre Chicken Meats. This is not meant to be a legal document, just a guideline of expectations and our relationship to you, our customer.
